I have been undertaking Olympic research for over 10 years, focusing primarily on the role of new media, culture and politics within the Olympic Movement. I have conducted fieldwork at every winter and summer Olympics since Sydney 2000 and my partcular interests have focused on how new journalist and ceative communities can cover Games time activity. I have also been a supervising Professor at the International Olympic Academy, spent time researching at the Olympic Studies Centre in Lausanne and saw shotput at the Ancient Stadium of Olympia during the Athens 2004 Olympics. I am currently completing a book for MIT Press titled ‘A Digital Olympics’.
