New York City: 11 Sept 2002

One year after the bombing of the World Trade Center and the streets of NYC were understandably melancholic. Protests were aplenty, though there felt like a big space in between Time Square and Ground Zero, where very little change to the daily routine took place.

I include a ranged of photographs here, all of which were taken around the time of 11 September, 2002. They are all based on an interest to record reactions to 9/11.

Washington Square
Well known as a meeting point for protests, washington Square was active during the days surrounding Sept 11, 2002. Here are a few photographs from the area: one | two | three . Ground Zero
There are no two ways about it, Ground Zero is a unique space in this world now. The atmosphere is serene and disquieting, though I have not been back there since May 2003. One year later, there seemed to be a mix of emotions, some of which were anger, some humility and desparation.
The Streets
