The Olympics: The Basics (2012)

Last week, my new book ‘the Olympics’, written with Beatriz Garcia, was published by Routledge. As friends will know, Beatriz and I are married and we met through the Olympic movement, as postgrads at the International Olympic Academy. This book has been extra special for that reason, but it’s also a very special book professionally, especially for me, as I’ve spent so many years lecturing on the Olympics, but have not published a great deal beyond my special research focus.

The Olympics (2012)

Dr Beatriz Garcia and I have just launched the website of our new book, due for publication by Taylor and Francis in February 2012. It is titled ‘The Olympics: The Basics’ and features within the renowned Routledge series ‘The Basics’. The website to the book is a unique attempt to build content around the Subject Index for the book. On the months leading up to publication, we will add resources that complement  discussions in the book, providing fascinating insights into the Olympic movement and Games. You can also follow the book on Twitter, where we wil post new resources from the site.

 

Human Futures (2008)

Medicalization of Cyberspace (2008)

As the first book ever to be published on the subject of gene doping, Genetically Modified Athletes (Routledge) has been reviewed and consistently cited around the world since 2004. It has also been covered by a range of international media including the Washington Post, the London Times, the Guardian and more. In 2008, a Brazilian translation was publshed by Phorta.
