17 Mar 08: Slavoj Zizek, Liverpool
The latest celebrity speaker to grace the European Capital of Culture was the Perver himself Slavoj Zizek. I first saw Zizek speak in 2003 at the Glasgow School of Art. The crowd pressed him on the need for psychoanalysis, but he stood firm to his core and reminded us of old jokes.

31 Jan 08: SK-interfaces, Liverpool
The launch exhibit of FACT's Human Futures programme was fantastic. Friends came up from London, Orlan was hanging around and we saw a wonderful performance by live artist, titled 'Blue Remix', which was the highlight of the evening.

01 Jan 08: Egypt
Egypt was not ideal for the independent traveller and it felt completely geared up for packages. Tourist Info offices were a messa and lacked clear info and bargaining for everything was required. Still, the amazing places make up for it and we saw Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, and Alexandria. Even took a balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. |
